Aston Martin Valiant - manual sports car made of carbon

The Valiant is made mainly of carbon, uses a V12 engine, and is limited to 38 units worldwide.

The Aston Martin Valiant was originally made at the request of Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso and was put into commercial production by the company through the Aston Martin Q personalization department. The Valiant is inspired by the Valour model but changed to be more focused on the track.

The Valiant uses a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 engine, producing 735 horsepower and 735 Nm of torque, 30 horsepower more than the Valour. Like the Valour, the car uses a 6-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive.

Recaro Podium sports seats feature padded contact areas, leather or Alcantara upholstery and support 4-point seat belts.

The bike’s weight has been kept to a minimum, with a 3D-printed rear subframe saving 3kg, a magnesium driveshaft saving 8.6kg without compromising rigidity. Unsprung mass is reduced by 14kg thanks to 21-inch magnesium wheels, while the lithium-ion battery sheds another 11.5kg.

With a focus on the track, the British automaker has equipped Multimatic spool-valve shock absorbers that can simultaneously adjust each damper to one of 32 damping curves in less than 6 milliseconds, similar to the equipment on the Ford Mustang GTD. Along with that, carbon ceramic disc brakes are standard, with 410mm discs at the front and 360mm discs at the rear. The car has three driving modes: Sport, Sport+ and Track.

The Valiant's design is more muscular and aggressive than the Valour, with many new carbon fiber details, including a carbon fiber body for improved aerodynamics. A front splitter increases downforce at the front of the car, a wider grille, large clamshell fenders, F1-inspired side skirts, a fixed rear wing with a carbon diffuser, and four centrally placed exhaust pipes. The company did not release information about downforce, but said the Valiant has better road holding than the Valour.

The interior is made mainly of carbon, the skeleton gearbox is specially made for Valiant. Recaro Podium sports seats have cushioning in the contact areas, covered in leather or Alcantara and support 4-point seat belts. The steering wheel has no buttons, helping the driver to focus on the driving experience.

The Valiant is limited to 38 units worldwide and has already been sold out at an undisclosed price. The first Valiant owner is Fernando Alonso. The car will be unveiled at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 11-14 and delivered to customers in the fourth quarter of this year.
